What is Jamaasian?
Jamaasian is a term used by certain players of the game Animal Jam.
The term describes natural and spiritual elements of the game which have, over time, practically faded completely from the game, with only a bit of the content containing these elements.
Some players of the game became fond of these elements and may refer to themselves as Jamaaisans.
The term also often refers to things in the game that are not humanoid and parts of the game shrouded in mystery.
Jamaasian History
Jamaasian culture as a whole revolves arround two characters, seemingly forgotten by the creators of the game. These characters are Zios, the sky father, and Mira, the sky mother.
It was said that these two characters created Jamaa and everything in it.
The lush land of Jamaa was called their masterpiece.
The story also largely includes the Shamans, also known as Alphas.
7 of the alphas, Liza, Sir Gilbert, Peck, Graham, Cosmo, Greely, and Tavie can be found in the Animal Jam adventures, while the rest are nothing but ideas, and have never been seen.
There was a lot of interesting Jamaasian stories and history when the game first came out.
However, many of the stories have been lost.
Some Jamaasians spend their time in the game trying to recreate the legends and uncover the secrets that were either lost as time went on, or never told at all.
The Jamaasian Movement
In 2012, an Animal Jam blogger by the name of Snowyclaw launched the Jamaasian Movement.
This was a movement created to try and convince the creators of the game, as well as the community to help bring back the Jamaasian elements and create a friendly and welcoming community.
The event was grand and many took part, but sadly, little change was made.
However, after the event, Snowyclaw became one of the biggest names in Jamaasian culture, and still uses the term to this day. Many members of the small Jamaasian community look up to her.
How to Become a Jamaasian
Becoming a part of the Jamaasian community is simple.
Your dedication to the community can be a large amount or only a little.
To be a Jamaasian you simply have to appreciate the Jamaasian elements, however, some members of the community take it farther and make art, stories, and even blogs about Jamaasian culture.
However much you wish to involve yourself in Jamaasian culture is up to you.
Happy adventuring, Jammers!
